balanced!

so, i’ve finally come to a safe, healthy balance. I eat as much as i want, when i want, except 3 hours before bed. I also cut out anything i might be allergic to, dairy, gluten, peanuts. I’m basically also not eating anything that requires an ingredients list. and nuts and seeds are raw, as well as a lot of the food i’m eating. I feel great, and the weight is slowly melting off. finally getting to those muscles underneath!

the pain

man, almost two months into working out, and i’m SORE!

i love it, because it means that I’m not going to plateau any time soon, but man, it hurts. walking up the stairs, standing after sitting, my boyfriend grabbing the belt loops on my pants to stop my walking…it all jars me into crazy muscle overload.

just one weekend, man, that I’m not waddling up and down the stairs. Does lower body have to be on Thursday? :)

Hardest workout yet

My trainer totally rocks. Today we:

1. Did an 1/8 mile of walking lunges. Thats about 8 sets of 20! no weight though, this was about endurance.
2. Did 3 sets of 10 leg presses at 140 lbs! right after lunges! OW!
3. Went down to the b-ball court, where I had to go 2 lengths of power jumps, no momentum, pure explosive. They sucked, btw.
4.My trainer got on a towel, and made me grab a towel he was holding and pull him backwards, one length running(ish)
5. He got on a towel again, and wrapped one around my waist, and made me pull him pony style running(ish)
6. He grabbed a 25 lb. weight, wrapped it in a towel, and made me push it down the court and back. running. on all fours.
7. 10 jumps, no momentum, as high as I could jump.

The power jumps were the hardest because my abs still hurt from the crazy abs we did on tuesday, so i couldn’t get the distance i felt like i should. I didn’t know jumping would be so hard on abs!

i’m even more encouraged now, because after talking to my trainer, i decided to up my calories to 1000-1300. that’s about where i hit today, rough rough…

and man, why did this seem hard before? now that I know how to go mega without food, dieting at a normal level seems redonkadonk easy.

sometimes everything seems to come easy.

i’ve been telling everyone how easy it is to quit smoking. I smoked for 5 years, and just stopped 9 weeks ago. I just said, ok, no more, and stopped. It’s pretty simple, and so rewarding!

so, i added in a few carbs, because my workout today was HARD. My trainer wasn’t messing around, and i could feel the lack of carbs on my muscles. so, mmmmm. grains. i think i totally overdid it today. haha, oh well.

I am Encouraged

So, i finally decided to address the diet issue.
oh, yes, the DIET issue.
When you have yourself convinced that because you eat healthy, you’ll lose weight.
Then you realize that by healthy, you mean, a lot.
“she has a healthy appetite”

you see.

so, i’m doing a fairly incredible caloric slashing.
I’m not eating as much as I “should”
but the way I look at it, humans around the world are starving with the food shortage right now, women in Haiti pick through the trash for an hour to get a handful of coffee beans, wheat and rice has more than doubled in price,

I can do my part and at least sort of starve with them.

so, i’m at about 600-700 cals a day, except sunday, which is my “out to eat with the boyfriend or else he’ll go totally nuts” day. we had Indian yesterday. It was divine.

after going up to 167, my all time high ever, I realized that the weight lifting wasn’t enough. My trainer looked at my weight gain and said, “what the hell are you putting in your mouth?”

now, it’s pretty much a cup of cottage cheese and some veggies a day, and my boyfriend’s miso soup, which is excellent and low in cals.

also, a new pumpkin pie recipe which will be put up shortly. At 56-72 calories per serving, I think you should be more than kissing my feet, you should be licking them. eww?

so, i’m down a magical 5 pounds, i’m a little light headed, but damn, my waist looks gooooood.

back on!

so, here I am again.  My weight is soaring now that I’ve been doing so much weight lifting, I can’t wait until it’s time to start dropping weight and showing off all this new muscle I’ve built!  My progress is moving really fast on weights, I can do 4 sets of twenty walking lunges without even blinking, it’s just hard to stay motivated when I’m gaining weight instead of losing it.  My arms look fantastic though! and the energy I have is unreal.  Now I just need to get on my diet a little better.

so, i wrote that blog and felt a little guilty, so i did my CRUNCH! pilates cardio video…does this mean i can eat half a protein bar to take care of my dessert fix?  haha

at 1890 cals today, prolly not, but i was low on potassium today, so maybe i should have a banana, huh?

Newbie

Well, I just signed up here and just started my weight loss journey. I way over did it on calories today because i bought a whole bunch of protein supplements that i didn’t need. apar.

So I went to my personal trainer today and he kicked my butt, we’ll see how that ends up, it was my third time and it’s not getting any easier. :)
